The paintings in the lower gallery are part of a project on memory. At my age I find that my memory is no longer accurate and sometimes very difficult to retrieve. How might I convey that on a canvas? These are all multi-media and include layers of paper and paint that is then torn or removed which ‘fractures’ the image, at times rearranges it – much like my memory. The are all on 16 X 20 gallery wrapped canvas and sell from the studio for $200.

The more I paint the more I gravitate toward color as a defining element of my work. The culmination of this can be seen in the ‘whimsical’ paintings. These pieces are based on pen and ink drawings I did in 1966 which survived, amazingly well preserved, after 50 years.
